NEW YORK: (AP) – Energy stocks are leading a decline in U.S. market indexes in early trading as the price of oil resumes its slide.
Exxon Mobil and Chevron were among the biggest decliners in the Dow Jones industrial average early Monday.
McDonald s fell 3 percent after reporting that a measure of global sales fell last month.
The Dow was down 35 points, or 0.2 percent, at 17,922 as of 9:35 a.m. Eastern time.
The Standard & Poor s 500 index fell four points, or 0.2 percent, to 2,071. The Nasdaq composite lost a point to 4,779.
Crude oil fell $1.35 to $64.49 a barrel in New York.
Bond prices barely budged. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note held at 2.30 percent.
